1 lb chicken breast

2 tsp turmeric powder

2 tbsp ghee

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp course black pepper

1 tsp sumac

1 tsp Za'atar

1/2 medium sized yellow onion (sliced)

1 cup chopped cilantro

1 tbsp ginger paste

1 tbsp garlic paste

2 dried red whole chilies

5 whole black peppercorns

3 cloves

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 finely chopped thai green chili (optional)

lime wedge

1. Cut chicken breast into medium sized pieces

2.) Heat a pan with ghee, then add black peppercorns, cloves, and cumin seeds, whole red chilies and saute for a minute

3. Add in sliced onions and mix until the onions turn golden brown

4. Now add the ginger and garlic and mix until the raw smell goes away on low heat

6. Add in the chicken pieces and mix again and let it cook for 5 minutes

7. Now it's time to add the spices. Mix the turmeric, sumac, salt, za'atar, black pepper, and green chilies and mix

8. Cook the chicken on low heat for 10-15 mins occasionally giving it a mix. Once the chicken is soft and tender it is ready to serve.

You can serve this dish with rice, roti, or naan with a side of salad. Squeeze a little bit of lime for added flavor!
