Chicken 65

Updated: Nov 25, 2018

The "65" in the recipe, was a symbol of macho-ism and meant to be able to tolerate eating as many as 65 chilies for every kilogram of chicken. Thankfully, this recipe isn't as spicy. In the recipe, I will teach you how to make it with only a few ingredients. When ordering this dish outside many restaurants put food coloring to create the deep red hue however we will be

getting the red color without it.

servings: 2

1 lb chicken breasts

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tsp garlic paste

Kashmiri red chili powder 3 tsp (adds a vibrant red hue)

1 tsp regular chili powder (optional for extra spice)

1/2 tsp black pepper powder

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 tsp salt (or to taste)

1/2 tsp cumin powder

3 tsp corn starch

1 tsp besan (chickpea flour)

1 egg

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice

( I do not add food coloring; for extra hint of red add a small pinch of beetroot powder)
